What is PTD?
PTD stands for Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik (Administrative and Diplomatic Officer). It similar as management trainee in private sector of Malaysia. PTD will be gone thru a very diversity training process and finally you may decide which specialty bases on your interest.

How is the salary?
Well, the public sector salary in Malaysia is getting better after 2012. If a country is targeting to be developed country, which sector of the salary to be increased first? Public sector or private sector?
Basic salary
Degree : RM2,422.00 ; Master : RM2,733.14 ; PhD : RM3,044.48
Fix Allowance RM850 (COLA : RM300 ; Housing Allowance RM250 ; Public Service Allowance : RM300)
Minium salary is RM3272.00. PLUS fix annual increment of RM225, annual leave 25 days, can carry forward 2 years or 'bank' as cash during the retirement~
